Mombasa: NCBA Bank Kenya Managing Director (MD) James Gossip has reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to deepening customer relationships and expanding business opportunities in the Coast region, describing it as one of the country’s most vibrant and strategically important economic zones.
According to Kenya News Agency, during a customer appreciation dinner held in Mombasa, Gossip emphasized that the engagement was part of NCBA’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its customer-centric growth agenda by gathering direct feedback from clients. He expressed gratitude to the customers for their support and highlighted the importance of understanding their needs to improve and enhance the bank’s services.
Gossip acknowledged the significant economic potential of the Coast region, which contributes about five percent to Kenya’s economy. He noted the resilience of the tourism sector, which is showing signs of recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, and highlighted infrastructure improvements as key drivers of new business opportunities in the area.
The bank’s commitment to the region is evident, with 11 of its 100 branches located along the Coast. Gossip explained that this reflects NCBA’s confidence in the area’s economic prospects and its dedication to supporting both individuals and businesses there.
During the interactive session, customers provided valuable feedback and made suggestions, including extending financial solutions to Kenyans working on ships and cruise lines overseas. Gossip assured attendees that the bank would explore ways to better support this group, underscoring the importance of regional engagement in addressing customer needs.
He also praised the dedication of NCBA’s frontline staff, sharing that customer testimonials expressing appreciation for the bank’s service were among the highlights of the evening. Gossip’s personal connection to the region, dating back to his honeymoon visit to Mombasa 36 years ago, further reinforced his commitment to the Coast.
Formed in 2019 through the merger of NIC Bank and Commercial Bank of Africa (CBA), NCBA continues to strengthen its presence across Kenya through customer-focused initiatives and strategic regional engagements.
